About This Blog – My Honest SBI Life Journey
By Tom, an actual SBI Life policyholder
Hi, I’m Tom. I created this blog — sbiterminsurance.com — because I’m an actual customer of SBI Life Insurance, and I felt there was a big gap online.
I’m not a writer. I’m not a financial guru. I’m just a normal person who got tired of reading the same recycled insurance info over and over, when all I really wanted was someone who’s actually used SBI Life to tell me how things really work.
So that’s what this blog is — just me writing down what I personally went through.
🧍♂️ How It Started
Back in 2021, I bought an SBI Life eShield Next term insurance policy. I didn’t buy it through an agent. I didn’t even speak to anyone. I just went on the SBI YONO app, selected the plan, and thought I was good to go.But the process wasn't as simple as I expected.
Some parts were smooth. Others made no sense.
I had issues with document upload, I got confused by the rider options, and I remember sitting there staring at the screen wondering,
“Wait… did I just spend ₹10,000 on something I don’t fully understand?”
I couldn’t find any real answers online. Every blog felt like it was written by a robot or someone paid to promote the product.
I thought — why not write it myself, in plain words, as someone who actually bought the policy?
So I did. That’s how sbiterminsurance.com was born.
📝 What I Write About
I write about real things I’ve faced as an SBI Life policyholder. Not what the brochure says. Not what some affiliate site says. What actually happens when you're a customer like me.
Some of the posts are based on things I Googled when I was stuck, like:
- “SBI eShield online payment failed”
- “How to edit proposal form after submitting in SBI Life”
- “eShield riders – which ones are actually useful?”
Others are just me sharing things I wish I had known earlier.
For example:
- Why I skipped certain riders even though they sounded important
- What I learned about the claim process when a relative passed away
- How the YONO SBI app handled my renewal (spoiler: not great)
If you’ve ever sat confused in front of your phone or laptop while trying to buy, update, or understand your term insurance — then you know exactly what I’m talking about.
🙋♂️ Who I Am
I’m Mahesh. I’m not an insurance agent. I don’t work at SBI.I’m just a salaried guy trying to make sure my family is protected if something ever happens to me.
That’s the only reason I bought a term plan in the first place.
And I picked SBI Life because I’ve had an SBI account for years and figured, “If I trust the bank with my money, I can trust them with insurance too.”
Turns out, that’s only half true.
I still believe SBI Life is solid. But they don’t always make things easy to understand. That’s what this blog helps with.
💬 Why I Write This Blog
To be honest, I don’t care about traffic or SEO or any of that. I didn’t create this site to make money.I just wanted to put out the kind of content I wish had existed when I was searching for answers.
If you’re reading this, you’re probably just like me — trying to buy the right plan, make sense of the options, or just find someone who’s actually used SBI Life, not just written about it from the outside.
That’s what I offer:
- ✍️ A real customer’s view.
- 🛠️ Not perfect. Not polished. But real.

⚠️ Disclaimer (Just to Be Clear)
I don’t work for SBI or SBI Life.I don’t sell policies. I don’t get paid by anyone to write this.
I’m just a real SBI Life customer, writing down what I’ve gone through — both the helpful parts and the frustrating ones.
If something changes, I update it. If I get something wrong, I admit it. That’s all this is.
Always double-check with SBI Life directly or speak to an advisor before making any decisions.
I’m just sharing my story — nothing more.
